    Default Bronx

    Hey guys,

This is Bronx. He's a English x French Mastiff and about 9 months old.

Nev from the forum put me on to him because his owner was looking to rehome him. So yesterday Mojo and i had a huge day cause we drove all the way down to Brizzy to meet him and see how the 2 dogs went together.

At first Bronx was a bit suss on Mojo.....acting up a bit.....but with Nevs help we got them both settled to a point where we both thought it might just work.
He needs some work......he's a bit thin and he dosnt have much training at all so i'm gunna have my hands full over the next few weeks, months etc.

It's somthing i'm prepared to work on even though my parents, inlaws and some friends have expressed thier concerns about having 2 large dogs at home.
I just think he deserves a chance as he's really a nice dog ( he loves big pats ) . He's just out of his comfort zone at the moment. His owners have recently moved house and now he's at Nevs, which is all new to him. I'm really looking forward to getting him settled into his new home and hopefully he and Mojo can become good buddys. So can everyone cross some fingers and paws for us please.

I also want to thank Nev for thinking of Mojo and I when his owner said they wanted to rehome him. It was good timing as the wife and i where discussing getting another dog (although the wife was thinking somthing smaller, along the lines of a Cavvy or similar LOL..). If anyone in Brisbane or Sunny coast needs to place thier dogs in a Kennel while they holiday i can say that Nevs place would certainly be worth a look. I was very impressed with the set up he has there. All brand spanking new kennels...insulated, very, very clean, 2 huge fenced grassed paddocks and seemed very professional. They also do Hydrotherapy there. Everything is brand new.
Also a big thanks to Newfsie who has gone out of her way to provide me with a heap of excellent info on how too go about things with Bronx. No doubt Newfsie, you'll be hearing from me soon with more Questions !!!

At the end of the day Bronx seems like a really nice dog (pup really) who deserves a chance at having a good home and i'm more than willing to to try and give that to him. I'm really hoping it works out.

Thanks for the shout out buddy and as for thinking of you and Mojo, well that is what community is all about.

From how the two boys settled down so quickly yesterday I have high hopes it will work for you. You just need to work at it slowly and allow Bronx time to settle down with yet another new environment coming his way in such a short time.

    See you on Monday.

Fingers and paws crossed for you, Mojo & Bronx that everything goes well. Bronx is very handsome by the way, good looking boy! You are a great person doing something awesome for giving him a second chance with a good home, here's hoping him and Mojo form a bond as time goes on. A little patience can go a long way!

    Thanks O.M and Nev.

Yep, for sure Nev...slow and steady wins the race. I've fenced the yard of so they can have a bit of time out if needed. They will still be able to see each other , yet go around the house away from each other if needed too. I'm missing him already....

I visited the previous owner on my way home and got his bed and food. We had a good chat about him and she gave me some helpful advice on his likes and dislikes. She seemed positive too after meeting Mojo.

    Thanks guys,

He can actually look a little bit intimidating with the brindle and those piercing eyes of his. But from what i saw yesterday he seems really friendly and puppyish still. He's gunna be a big boy when he's fully grown. The brindle must come from the English side of things but i dont know what'll happen size wise. While it was only thier first time together i have a feeling that he's going to be the dominate dog over Mojo. Time will tell i guess.
