    Unhappy 'Buddy'

    599388_463074330370930_1889089108_n.jpg

His boys name is buddy, he is in my local pound..
I have found out that his owner's don't want him.
He is timid, A lady called Alex Bater on my page has said this about him:

This boy is very timid. Very anti trusting. His owners don't want him. He answers to buddy. And once he trusts you you will have a loyal companion. He can jump a 6 ft fence and likes his space. I know because he lived in my street and use to come and visit me all the time. Took 4 months for me to be able to pat him and for him to know I'm not going to hurt him. He had a house he live out the front of but no family. I was trying to help him but with out him staying in a yard I couldn't do much other then give him some food when he looked hungry. If he finds a home please take time with him be patience and let m be the best he can be. If I could adopt him I would be I don't have the room for him but am willing to help out where I can if he can find a home. If someone's willing to adopt him and give him a good home depending the situation I'll assist with funding. Just don't know how to go about it with out him having a place to stay.
Please if anyone on here can take him if your local in gippsland, Call 1300 367 700 to inquire about him.

She says if no one takes him in five days she is just going to go get him and try and sort something out for him..

Couldn't she contact a local rescue group. I'm sure if she's willing to help with him and cover some costs they would get him out...?

Update, Buddy didn't do so well in the temperament test..... He has eight days to prove them wrong about putting him in the save a dog scheme... The lady alex bater has put her name down for him but it all depends on there desicion.... All because he was abused in the past and doesn't trust humans... So sad.. I hope he behaves so he can get put in the SODS program...

    So sad.
If i didnt have a dog i'd be keen on him for sure. How good would ya feel about helping that georgous face become a relaxed normal dog again.!!

I'd also like to give a few uppercuts to whoever caused his obvious fear and timidness. Not fair he's in this boat because of bloody humans. GRRR !!

Fingers and paws crossed he finds a loving home.

I wish i could help him to... but there is no way my dad would agree. We already have two dogs and three cats. I really hope he is good for the next eight so he can get into the program.. :/

It is so hard to find a foster home with containment for an abused fence jumper that the few out there are usually full.

And his rehab will take a long time, sadly, that four or five other dogs may be able to be saved in that time. And the pound will have public liability problems if they release a dog that doesn't test safely (although the tests themselves are not always fair).

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could save them all? Sadly, that will only happen when idiots don't abuse them in the first place.

It's just so sad... It's not his fault that humans abused him and made him scared.. All he needs is a dedicated owner! who is willing to make higher fences and house train him or something.. I'm guessing house training would be hard with a scared doggy.. And as the lady who knows him told me.. it took her four months for the dog to trust her to give just pats.

It is a tough job and takes a lot of time.i have two newfies that failed the temp test....One took me nearly a year to get to "managing" stage, the other was a little quicker. Especially with the larger dogs it is more difficult as a mistake would not be tolerated in the Community. And sadly a dog that looks like buddy in Victoria has a whole lot of other problems to deal with.

Re-homing after re-habbing these dogs is also difficult....you have gained the dogs trust and I feel you can never let them down, hence i still have my two.

Buddy is a very sad story, but there are many like him..........
