Try the RuffWear boots (available at Online Pet Store for Dog Supplies - Waggle Canine Adventure Gear for example). The have a good, solid Vibram sole. Whilst I'm not one for dressing up my dogs, either, protecting your dogs's feet can save you money in vets bills and save your dog lots of discomfort. When Flirtt cut her foot open last year, my RuffWear boots were invaluable allowing me to walk her and keep the wound clean and dry.

When I had my wolfhound, the antibiotics required for a cut foot ran to hundreds of $$, and the boots were excellent again for foot protection.

Thanks V&F - i like the description of the Ruff Wear Polar Trex Boots for Dogs, because i'm looking for something that is weather resistant & will keep the damp from getting to her paws, the size of them look as though she will be wearing 'knee high boots' lol.

In between her 'toes' it's like a reddish brown. It doesn't seem to bother her, like she's not in any pain or anything so i'm wondering if i might just be going abit too far? it'll be nice not to have to wipe her feet down anymore before she enters the house, or the car etc, so they certainly would be convenient for me!

    lol at her dirty feet!

Like you Kuri, our jackets for Pippi are just plain. Well she does have one with paw prints on it, and another fancy one with "Little angel" on the back but that was sent to me for free when I purchased 2 dog beds.

Shes so funny though and when I get her jackets out she goes crazy running away coz she hates wearing them. Then once oyu get one on, she wont move LMAO. She just sits there hanging her head. Then when you take it off, she rolls all over the place. But I tnk I would rather her wearing them even though she hates it, than have to watch her shvering because she gets too cold.

I just noticed she has the same pink colour around her mouth, so it obviously how her fur/hair goes when it gets damp/wet.

When we lived in the USA, we used to have boots on our dogs....They used to get snow balls under their feet and it would cause a lot of discomfort.

I would try dunking those feet in Apple cider vinegar once to twice a day and maybe blow them dry after the walk.

My blower would dry those in seconds...i do it with the newfie feet in Winter, just to give the house a bit of a break

    Thanks Newf,

I will try the apple cider vinegar. Her mouth is bad also (alot of it has to do with her dribbling in the car, she gets awful car sickness) I've tried Angel eyes in her water & Fido's stain remover rubbed directly into her beard but saw no change. I had planned on getting her beard fully shaved off along with her feet at our next grooming booking - she looks awful without her beard, but oh well!

I will also try blow drying her after walks, but it will take forever after training (she comes home drenched) so i may still invest in the boots for training. I will let you know how the apple cider vinegar goes!
