Default Warning Pet Insurance Co-Payment by Stealth

    Hi all

So you think if you just renew your insurance premium - you're getting the same benefit you originally signed up for? WRONG.

Pet Insurance Australia have changed their policies to include a 20% Co Payment ie they've dropped their payout by 20% and you have to cover the gap. Ie on $1000 that's $200 and there's a $200 excess as well. So if you need to claim $1000 you have to pay out $400 first and you only get $600. Not to mention the premium is over $300 for my dog per year. So for a $1000 claim - I would pay out $700 to get back $600.

I've never made a claim at all - so why do they punish their customers like that?

Why do I bother with insurance if they're going to be like that?

Looking for other companies now - except Petplan cos they're underwritten by Allianz and I've had bad experience with them.

Mine just came up for renewal (first payment just came out), I will need to check that out. My monthly payments went up $5 as well! Better not have changed the benefits if they have jacked up the premium that much.
