Happy Belated Birthday Ziggy. Hope you had a great day and enjoyed your fish cake. How is she going Hippo?

Ziggy is back to normal, also thanks to all the extra wishes and hugs . The vet called about the biopsy and we have nothing to worry about. It was a papilloma and they removed it completely . So really good news!

Just one other thing I am a bit worried about... When Ziggy was in surgery they did some Xrays of her elbows. She sometimes limbs particularly after she played with other dogs and after a lot of running. We will get the results next week. It might be OCD although I hope it is just a strain or something like that.

Excellent news on the biopsy. Fingers crossed for the elbows.

    an update...

We went to see the elbow expert today who had a look at the xrays. There are some subtle changes in the elbow that might suggest that she has elbow dysplasia. So the doc suggested to have a closer look by endoscopy.... meaning in ~2 weeks time she will have another "surgery". If it is a form of elbow dysplasia they should be able to fix it during the endoscopic process. I am glad that we told the vet about her limping as in a few months time it could have developed into arthrosis... And I am glad that we have her insured!!!

    Great news about the biopsy
All the best with her elbows ! At least you're having it treated early.
Try not to worry too much.

Ok, Ziggy had her elbow surgery yesterday and we just picked her up from the vet. The surgery went really well! It was a very early form of FCP (a type of elbow dysplasia) and the vet removed the piece of bone causing it. So everything should be fine
Now she is not allowed to jump and run for 4-6 weeks (which is good, I expected much longer)... I am grateful for any tips how I can keep her calm and entertained. I think we will use a cage for the first days (when we are at work) so that she can't run around in the house and bones to keep her busy. If anyone else has suggestions I am happy to hear them! It was already hard to keep her from running tonight But fair enough, she is home after two days in a strange environment with no prober food... She actually is just chewing on her bone, after a pig ear which disappeared within 2 minutes (the fastest ever) and dinner... very hungry
