    Default my weekend the vet

    hello all.....

so my weekend began with noticing a bit more gunk in jonahs eye then most mornings, usually its a tiny bit from the corner of his eye, saturday there was a fair amount more.... so i gotta warm cloth and wuiped it away (more in one eye then the other) and left it at that.

woke up sunday after a night out for my birthday and there was more gunk again.....so i decided to take him to the vet, it was crusty and looked quite uncomfortable...... i then noticed the poor guy has a sore between this butt and nuts which he has been chewing on and it has become infected...... well might as well get the vet to look at that too.

get to the vet, and she looks him over, turns out the eye thing is probably an allergy, so i have a paste to put in his eyes twice a day to help clear it, as for his butt,

it looks like he has been bitten by somthing could have been a flea, and any anything, and cos he cant scratch it he chews at it and he has made it worse and worse...... checked him over for anymore fleas, couldnt see 1.... so now i gotta give him a cream for that, along with a course of anti biotics, i tried to put a "lampshade" collar on his yesterday so he wouldnt get to it, but he managed to get it off and jsut to show me tore it up......... 2 days of cream and it already looks alot better.......

then whilst leavign the vet a boxer on heat walks in and jonah looses his mind....... ive never seen that side of him before, the hairs on his back were standing up...... crazy!

so the vet took the boxer into a room while i sorted out the bill etc......

what a way to spend my birthday..... hopefully all these meds work and he is back to 100% asap......

Oh poor Jonah! what a little genius to be able to get the bucket off of his head, all Harley was ever able to do was destroy it over 10 days!

Wonder what he has had an allergic reaction too?!

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

Bad luck buddy, not a cool Bday at all.

I've had to use a similar paste in my own eye after i got battery acid in it and it works a treat. What a bugger of a spot to get bitten. Oh well could of been worse, could have got him right on his nuts !! Those collars must get so frustrating, no wonder he trashed it LOL. Happy birthday mate and hope Johna gets better soon.

yeah the vet reckons it could jsut be somthing similar to hayfever... i did notice this morning there was no gunk at all.......the fun bit is trying to get a 8 month old staffy to stay still while you rub stuff into his eyes and near his manhood........

Maybe he sat on a bee.

My birthday was last week too - and I take Frosty to the vet - usually on my birthday to get her booster shots cos it's easy for me to remember and happens to co-incide with the right time. This year i went the day before for some reason - I thought I'd be busy on my birthday - wrong.

Have you tried bribery for the ointment deal. I used it for clipper training ie if you hold still for 10 seconds ("yes") - you get yummy treats.

    Happy birthday Reyzor.

I do not mean to laugh but the visual of hyacinths explanation that "maybe he sat on a bee" is too much for me LOL.....made me giggle my head off.....sorry...!!!!

Urgh, health problems with pets suck. Hope he'll recover soon and that it won't be something recurring.
