she sounds just like my elsa. she eats anything. she is a small dog and i expected her to be fussy but she is a gargabe guts who devours anything she thinks is chewable. she eats snails all day long and has the best time doing it. i too worry about her getting sick but there is no real way i can stop it when i am at work. i dont want to risk using snail bait as she may then eat a poisoned snail. i just accept that she is a snail eater.

I won't put down snail baits either as I'm sure Misty would definitely eat them, pretty colour, just what she goes for. We don't have many snails left in our back yard where she is, I'm thinking of letting her out in the orchard where the vegie garden is and let her eat them LOL. It's funny, we have always had a lot of snails in our yard but with the animals I've never baited, just let them go, it's only a few months ago when trying a vegie garden that I realised there was only the odd one in our back yard, didn't even think of Misty then until I saw her with one in her mouth. Everyone wants to look after her now.....(I wonder why), given the above replies that isn't going to happen. LOL.

I think some snails are poisonous. You should watch out, your dog might eat a poisonous snail.
Border Collies are like potato chips, you really can't have just oneā€¦

Thanks BorderCollieCallix, I do admit to be very wary about her eating the snails, I am trying to find as many as I can and get rid of them myself as much as I hate doing that.
Misty is still going great, so far so good. Cheers
