Default Peeing During Sleep... Should I Be Worried?

    Heya,

Luna has peed in her sleep a couple of times over the last few weeks.. I think mainly since we had her spayed.. The only times we've noticed it has been when she is on the couch and suddenly there is a puddle and some drippage..

Should I be taking her to a vet to get this checked out?

It's common after a spay, but get her checked out.

How long ago was she spayed?
Owning a dog should be a partnership. Much like a good marriage it should be based on love, trust and devotion until death do you part.

It can happen to bitches after being desexed, most correct themselves some do not. I'd have it checked out.

Has she been drinking a lot.

Is she on any cortisone or had any injections for any injuries etc? This drug makes them drink a lot and younger dogs may not have good enough bladder control for it.

She hasn't had any injections or anything.. she was on meds for a couple of days for allergies, that's about it..

I will take her down to the vet.

    Thanks guys.

Tessa had actually done that twice ( on the bed) about a month ago. She didn't even wake up but she is 16 years so we just put it down to old age.

Some allergy meds may be cortisone based. Google the name of the pills and u will soon find out what it is.

I have an incontinent bitch here, however her incontinence started before she was spayed, not after.

There are a lot of causes for incontinence and the treatment depends on the cause. My girl is on a drug that aids in tightening the muscles around the bladder but those who experience it due to spaying are usually given hormone treatments.
