    Default Another Sick Dog!

I seem to be having the absolute worst luck lately!! One of my rabbits has just fallen ill, and after a very stressful last week looking after Abbie post op, i last night said to my partner "why cant all the pets be fit and healthy like buckley!"

So i completely jinxed him and this morning we wake up to Buckley vomiting! In the space of an hour and a half he had vomited 8 times Ummed and ahhed about taking him to the vet. It was a very hot day yesterday. We were at a BBQ with Buckley and he was running around like a bat outta hell for a good 5 hours straight. Convinced myself it must be heat exhaustion or a bit of a tummy upset. The mother in law is over baby sitting them for the day so i told her to keep an eye on him but he's vomited another 4 times since i have left for work and he's now refusing food and water. So it's off to the vet at lunch time. I feel like i live at the vet! Fingers crossed it's just gastro or something and nothing serious :S sighhhhh. i'm just about due for a mental breakdown i think!

    Bad luck Tiff

I wonder he ate something he shouldn't have or he was running around like a mad thing cos he got stung by a bee.

He will be one dehydrated bunny now. Got any gatorade?

Second the Gatorade to try and get his electrolytes back up, he will be super dehydrated.

    Hope it is nothing serious.

What a bummer you have had such bad luck with your pets health of late. Hope it all improves soon. (You must be up for some good luck by now).

No gatorade around but he's been to the vet and she thinks it might just be some gastro. Nearly got her fingers taken off her when she went to do the rectal exam haha. Gave him an injection to stop the vomiting and but he vomits again he needs to go back in.

And no food for him until tomorrow morning! :O he's going to be one unhappy boy!

Sooooo...things have taken a turn for the worse again! I seriously don't know how one person can have soo many things go wrong with their pets in such a short amount of time!!

Abbie is the healthy one for a change! Woke up the other day to Buckleys lip looking like this..

Gave it a few days to go down as i was so bloody sick of being at the vet all the time but it won't budge. The vet seems to think it is an infection of some sort. So now i have two dogs on antibiotics, and one rabbit (with suspected snuffles virus) on pain killers and antibiotics! In addition to this i'm completely stressed out and loosing sleep because i still haven't worked up the nerve to tell my boss i'm resigning! Life bloody sucks at the moment! I look after all these animals better than i look after myself! and how often am i sick? never. typical hey. haha...feel free to ignore my rant. I'm down about 10 hours sleep!

You are in the wars, Tiff.

Pet insurance must be looking like really good value right now.

Is there something in the environment that is causing this?

Buckley's lip does look like some sort of abscess. Not like a bruise that goes down after not too long.

Frosty stuck her nose up a bee's butt - and ended up looking very Roman - like a bull terrier. I got it out and iced it as much as she'd let me. But she was fine and it went down after not very long. And she's done it again since, but I was much quicker getting the sting out. Silly dog has not learned the difference between blow flies and stingers.

Haha no I haven't run over any black cats! I really don't know what is causing all these health issues! Nothing in their environment has changed at all. Hmmm

The lump has gone done a little bit but still there. I just hope like fricking hell that he won't need surgery to remove it!
