    Unhappy Help Dog in Pain?

I live in the bush and can't get to a vet until tomorrow morning. My kelpie/heeler cross seems to have injured her tail. Its bent about a 1/4 way down from the base. She is very unhappy, looking at it and not happy to let me look at it. I can't see any wound and she is not licking it. Is there anything I can do to make her more comfortable?

She ate, drank and used bowel and bladder normally but is restless and miserable. She doesnt feel hot.

    Sorry to hear that bluenanou...
All i can say is get her to the vet as soon as you can. It might be broken, if so it's very painful especially since it's the continuation of their spine. I think that bandage or splinting might be needed but this should be left to the vet... I don't think there's much you can do untill then. Just keep her quite and comfortable...
My pup broke her tail, before i got her though, it has a bend in it...
    Best wishes!
Let us know how she goes...

She has settled down now...maybe was in shock. Asleep but with little wimpers now and then. She is a rescue dog - was dumped at the rubbish dump...tied to the gate for the shire workers to find. As silly as a wheel but trying hard to be good now.

Yes I will get her to the vet tomorrow and let you know how we go.

    Many thanks for your reply
