Default How Much Do You Spend?

I met a guy that has a Dogue De Bordeaux and he was saying he spends about $120 a week on dog food for his dog.

Im not 100% sure what he buys except for "Science diet" Dry food. Which is where I actually learnt that it existed haha

How much do you spend on average per dog weekly?

Dog food from the supermarket is better than Science Diet, Advance, Eukanuba etc. I will not touch any of them!

I spend about $50 per fortnight but I buy dog food monthly.

If you are just calculating food costs, then it would equate to around $5 per week per dog.

If I add in grooming and care, at a guess it would equate to around $19

If I add in medications, veterinary care and sundries, at a guess it woudl equate to $21 per dog per week.

Yeah, if we're just counting food.. not that much, really. But that's really only because I have a toy poodle whose food intake I have to limit! She has human grade meat at night (much to my housemates' chagrin - she eats better cuts of meat than them) and good quality kibble in the morning.

I buy the smallest bag (usually around 1.5kg) of dry (Royal Canin atm, but slowly slowly experimenting with others) which lasts .. god, I don't even know. Months! They're only around $20-30/bag, which is hardly anything on a weekly basis. $5, not even. I think I spend more on treat type goodies like pig ears etc.

Up until Griffen was 18 months old I was spending around $130 a week for the two dogs. Now he's older I spend around $30-40.

Dog food is much cheaper if you can buy it in bulk. Ie the 15kg bag that I buy is around $7 per kilo but if I bought the 3kg bags it would be closer to $12 per kg.

The casserole that i get about 10 days worth from costs about $15 to make. So again around 1.50 per day? The main expense is the 1kg of meat I put in.

I feed mostly raw and make my own mix, it works out, including treats etc to about $8 a week per dog. This is averaged out of course- the big dogs need to eat more than the little ones!
