Default How Long Does Fridge Mince Last?

Just wondering how long you would keep Raw and cooked mince in the fridge for the dogs?

With the roo meat, within two days its starting to smell off and I throw it out.

I know dogs will eat rotting bones, well i know Ruby prefers the bone to of sat there for a couple of days and be all black and stinky and then she eats it..

Where do you buy it from? If you buy it from the butcher, ask them how fresh it is so you know what to mark as it's use by date.

I don't feed cooked mince, but as a guess, I wouldn't keep it any longer than about 4 days max. Raw meat will usually keep up to 7 days but you need to know how long it has been sitting at the butchers for or in the supermarket.

All the meat used for my dogs comes direct- the butcher butchers it the night before, freezes, and delivers frozen the next morning.

I only defrost each day what I will use that night.

Same here, defrost and eat........Even all our bones are frozen. And often not defrosted.

raw unfrozen mince should be cooked and eaten within a couple of days. The stuff I get, it's usually marked on the pack.

Unminced whole pieces of meat keep longer because you haven't chopped it all up with bacterias able to grow in the middle. Ie the outside of it protects the inside. You don't have that with mince.

So best to freeze or cook mince the day you get it.

The roo mince I get has a longer useby date but it is vaccuum packed. But again, if I'm not going to use it straight away - it goes in the freezer.
