    Unhappy Trouble with Fleas

Hi, Im new here so if I have posted this in the wrong section please dont hold this against me. I have a Boarder Collie X ****zu.

I am having so many problems with fleas. I dont know what else I can do.

I have tried, Washing her regurely, spot on treatment, flea powder, flea coller, flee spray around the house and flea bombing. I pick the fleas off her and kill them.

For example today I bathed her (using flea dog wash), put a brand new flea collar on her sprayed the flea spray around the house again and yet there back and its not just one or two. I hate seeing her scratching so much and I have tried everything I can think of. I was her bedding when she gets a bath.

Please help, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Advocate for dogs works best for us.

I would buy some of it and then throw away the bedding and replace it with new stuff and put flea powder on your carpet for a day before vacuuming.

I have tried the flea powder...... Where do you get the Advocate from? Is it like a spot on treatment?

Try a Capstar Tablet then a good quality spot on. Flea collars are no good

I got the spot on treatment from the vet, I think advantage was the one, it worked for about 3 days.

Advocate works better. It's worth a try and it works out at only $12 a month.

I've never seen a flea on any of my pets.

I use Comfortis. One tablet once a month and all fleas die very quickly. No need to use anything else im conjunction with it. All other flea treatments that we tried didn't work nearly as well. It's a bit pricey though so it's best seeing if a cheaper method works for you. Our vet recommended it. It's always good to ask them when you go in for a check up if you still have trouble with fleas.

Not sure where you are from but in some parts of QLD and NSW products such as Frontline and Revolution arn't very affective as the fleas have built up an immunity or something along those lines may have something to do with the temp, anyway I read an article somewhere???
Sentinel Spectrum came up as a good one but that also does worms and heart worm and in summer comes with the capstar tablets. This poduct will also depend on what you are using for heart worm.
