    The product Laura's OH would be using is called ivermectin.

    ETA: I also agree with Laura's statement -(i dont condone people using any sort of treatment not specifically intended for dogs)

    Hmmm..... My vert gave banjo a shot for heartworm that lasts a year... then gave me wormers to give once every three months..
    does this sound right?

    You can get an annual heartworm injection but generally worming needs to be done every 3 months (check what you buy for instructions) on top of heartworm protection.

    I use Ivermectin horse wormer for my rats It worms them and gets rid of any lice or mites. Depends on their weight but they get a bit that is the size of a grain of rice. The problem with using it for smaller animals is that you have to be careful with how well it is mixed. For my rats you have to squeeze some out, mix it well and hope for the best.
