    According to my searching this topic this afternoon (yeasty dogs). Bathing a yeast infected dog with oatmeal shampoo is a no. Oatmeal feeds yeast.

    it's his anal glands, thats why the smell disappears. If it was his skin or ears the smell would be constant. They're probably full and oozing hence you can smell them, you shouldn't smell them at all. If he's on a dry food only diet add something like a rice/veg/meat meal which is a little more bulky, and cut out canned foods.
