    Default Sick Staffy

    hi
last night for dinner i fed my 3 month old staffy a can of food that she has never eat before because i ran out of the food that i was previuosly give him. it was called natures gift. he ate more than half of a 380g can and seemed to like it. next morning i went to go see her she was excited but was shakking and seemed wierd and wasnt that energetic as previuos mornings. gave her some pedigree solid food but didnt eat that much and went to school. i came back about 2 hours later and seeing him really weak. always lying down and sleeping. he use to be always running around and jumping but now he just doesnt move around that much. somtimes when i touch him he screams. what is wrong with him?
is it because i fed him the new food to much? or what? im really sad and really feel sorryy for him

Please take him to the vet. To me it sounds more serious than a food change.

When I saw this post I thought it must of been a joke! Someone revving forum members up. Sorry.

Is your dog frothing at the mouth, is your dogs stomach swollen and extended? Did it exercise or drink a lot after or before it was given the food. Is it trying to vomit?

If my dog was uncharacteristically quiet for more than a few hours and in severe pain with the only explanation a change of food it would be off to the vet.

Just two of those 4 symptoms would be more than ample to warrant a Vet check asap...

geez if it was my dog, i sure as hell wouldn't be wasting precious time by posting on a forum ............................ it would be VET visit asap for my dog or puppy

thanks guys but the problem is that i am only 16 and have no money. and my dad has no job. and my mother has no money for the dog. how much are the vet checks? ill go when my mum comes back. i use most of my money for the dog foos. i only get 50 a fortnight. so its going to be hard.

You'll have to ring your vet to see how much it is. Most vets offer a payment plan that you can pay back over a while. See if your vet does it.
