any ideas/hints on how to keep a bandage on gyps's foot?? shes not to bad at chewing on it but it keeps slipping down.

i use the sticky stretchy bandages and tape to hair.

To stop the slipping you have to bandage way up the leg, almost like she broke it half way up the leg rather than down the bottom on the toe.

Like a full leg cast, thigh to toe.

Watch how tight you make it.

Has she got a grass seed or something imbedded in the flesh surrounding the toe, Laura? Sounds like it could be. If it is it would need to be checked by a vet, possibly lanced and cleaned out and maybe a course of antibiotics to combat any infection.

For bandages, I have always placed a sock on the dogs foot over it, and carefully taped it or used those old-fashioned elastic hold-ups that men used to use for their long walking socks. Works a treat.

i cant see any grass seeds and TBH there isnt any around. her nail on the particular toe was quite long so i trimmed it (with great difficulty) incase it was putting pressure on the toe

Well it's just my opinion, but I wouldn't bandage anything unless I knew exactly what the cause was.

Have you washed her foot in antiseptic lotion and warm water to give it an almighty clean?

yep ive washed it in antiseptic and salty water (made a huge mess )
ive got a good antiseptic cream which i want to put on but she keeps licking off (which is why i want to bandage) there is no puss (even when pressure is applied) so i just want to watch it before i run off to the vet. she is walking eating and doing zoomies fine still =D
