If none of the above works, you can always get an elizabethan collar! I know that the dogs hate them, I hate using them, but they can't lick anything with one on.

Aloe vera won't get licked off. You can see the dog screw her face up with disgust when she tries it.

One of my friend's little dogs managed to snap one of its claws in half, well up the quick - there was blood everywhere. But I don't think it would be good to bandage it, except to maybe keep the floors clean. Then again, blood is easy to get off with soap and cold water.

They sell Aloe Vera Juice at Woolworths in the Asian section... I've been too scared to try it!

I found some Aloe Vera plants growing wild down near the river the other day, so I dug a couple up and have yet to plant them - currently they are being housed in a small dog bowl with wet paper towels.

I've just put some manuka honey on Phee's leg, she's somehow managed to scrape a 20cent sized patch of skin off it. I've put some gauze and used some vetwrap over it so she doesn't lick it off, hoping I can keep it on her overnight so the honey can do it's work!
