It's common in my breed too DA, at about the same age. Magnesium is good. Not too many people realise that Calcium is not only tied up with Phosphorus but also with Magnesium.

So if you supplement one without the other you are wasting time.

We have had good results with calcium liquid - from your vet - with extra canned fish (in oil) in every meal. Fish has good trace mineral levels which should provide the needed phosphorus and magnesium. Vitamin A & D also aid in calcium uptake and utilisation so fish wins again.

I have been amazed by the amount of calcium some youngsters need, with others never needing a drop.

Thanks Natty. Been using broccoli water to balance calcium/phosporus ratio. She seems to be reacting to the magnesium tablets though. Both days she has been 'off', and they are the two days I've given her magnesium. I would much prefer to add additional fish and do it that way.
    Much appreciated.
