Yes, it has. Have sent PM. Must admit, if I don't have a coffee in my hand, then I am always on low caffeine.

Yes...they ARE "just" dogs...and they might not "care" what we feed them...but I care! I care about the fact that dogs are being pumped with preservatives and synthetic colouring in their foods...I care that Sumo got really sick when he ate that garbage...had splat sh!t every second day...had bleeding bowels...his coat looking dull and lifeless and had extremely bad breath. I can now see he looks healthy, shiny coat and is thriving on fresh human grade food with NO preservatives in it!

It is your prerogative what you feed MyF, because it is a decision you have to live with. I have to live with my decisions and they are...I will NOT feed them kibble filled with corn and soy which are known factors in causing allergies in dogs...I will NOT feed food that contains ANYTHING called "a number" (preservative or artificial colouring)...I will not feed meat/poultry "by-products"...they could be any bloody thing! What is a "by-product" anyway? If it was GOOD nutritious meat...it would say MEAT!

If the kibble that is sold is soo bloody fabulous and "adequate" for our dogs...why is it that they have to add extra vitamins/minerals etc to balance it out?!? I'll tell you why...because what they use in that food has little or no nutritional value. It is pumped up with beet pulp (a filler) which will make your dog feel full. It will also make your dog sh!t 3-4 times a dog...leaving huge smelly landmines for you to pick up! What they leave on your lawn is what they can not digest...is what they bodies do not need or do not want!!!

I will tell you something. I had a chat to my dear vet about foods etc. He said to me...there should be no reason why your dogs couldn't live till they are 20, but due to what we feed them...this is just not the case anymore! He also informed me NEVER to feed pet grade mince due to the excuberant amounts of preservatives in it and said...there are no regulations as to how much preservatives can be used in pet foods...and we gladly give this sh!t to them!

Anne said...preservatives are not killing our dogs...how do we know? We know they are not good for us, but still think it is ok to pump our pets bodies with them...because they don't "care" what we feed them. More to the point...they don't have a bloody choice, because we are the providers of their foods!

When I got my dogs...I made several commitments to them and one of them is...feed them good nutritional foods. I was as ignorant as many people and believed the Hills Science Diet and Advance hype. Surely they must be good for your dogs...the vets sell them...right?!? Both these brands are stocked with by-products...corn...beet pulp etc etc! They get 1* in pet food review...it is garbage!

And we wonder why our pets die prematurely of cancers...they suffer from seizures and other diseases! Maybe...just "maybe" some of the factors are the crap we are feeding them. To be honest...I think feeding them table scraps are better for them than feeding that garbage to them...at least we know...WE were willing to eat the food we are giving them!

You try and live off McDonalds and Takeaway for a month and lets see how you feel! Then after that...eat healthy for a month...nice fresh foods and come back and tell us if you feel any different!

There are some fairly good kibbles out there...kibbles that do not have by-products, corn or soy in them. They might be a bit more expensive, but "maybe" they might just save you in vet bills further down the track!

I would like to have my dogs for longer than 6-8 years and if there are anything I can do about that...then I will!

Very well said Dorte... you summed up my thoughts & feelings in regards to healthy eating etc

I too am a firm believer in fresh, raw barf diet for my dogs too..

If nature intended for wolves in the wild to eat processed foods then nature would have given wolves the ability to open cans & packets..
