    Who has done that, Myf?

    That's fair enough Myf.

Personally, no-one on here or anywhere can make me feel like a terrible dog owner, as I know I'm not.

If you know (and only you will know) that you are doing everything the best that you can for your dogs, what you believe is truly right for your dogs then no-one ever will be able to make you feel otherwise. How can they make you think the truth is wrong?

Batty started out on supercoat with the rescue group, and was doing well on it. I am not a fan of supercoat because of Dr Harry, but I won't go in depth on why atm. I fed Batty supercoat while I worked out what would be best for him and he is on commercial food, that is Innova Evo. He also gets raw chicken mince, a bone or chicken wing a day plus a chicken neck.

The only reason he has Evo at all is because hubby doesn't like making the mix for him, and hubby feeds him in the morning. Hubby also retches and sometimes vomits at the sight of the meat mix, so it is convenience for us.

I will not feed certain foods because of their ingredients. I do call it crap because in my opinion it is the equivalent of McDonalds for dogs. That is my opinion that I have come to after doing my own research. I found a brand of commercial foods (with the much appreciated help of some members of this forum) that doesn't fall into that category IMO and that Batty is doing wonderfully on.

You don't have to...it is "fairly" obvious. What I said was...it is YOUR prerogative what you feed your dogs MyF, because you have to live with those decisions....and it is MY prerogative what I feed my dogs, because it is a decision I have to live with!

I think commercial dog food is sh!t and garbage. MY dogs do a lot better on fresh foods than foods which are filled with preservatives and unnecessary fillers! My vet thinks the same...the foods that are on offer now for our pets are NO good for them and yes...as Anne said...he has studied canine nutrition during his studies.

I couldn't give a flying hoot about what you feed your dogs Myf. We will never agree on this issue, so lets leave it at that. I have seen the effects in which the commercial foods have had on Sumo and it was not nice.

On a final note on this issue...there is a reason why there are strict regulations as to how much preservatives can be used in foods for human consumption.....................I wonder why

If you are so sure you are doing the right thing...what do you have to feel guilty about?

So, does anyone else have a dog who eats figs, or unusual fruit?
