Thanks for adding in where you live, I was going to ask that question. It may be that he has one of the newer starins of parvo. I hope he is ok, it sounds like you caught it quick which is a good thing and will help him in the long run.
Thanks for letting me know about the domestos! I will buy some bleach when I go to the shop. I have washed my lounge cushion covers, as he has a tendancy of jumping up on the lounge when I'm not looking, but do you think I should wash the actual cushions? They're just basically big bits of foam. I don't want to risk missing anything that might contain it.

I have great news! The vet just called, he only got a low strain of the virus and he is responding well to treatment! He might just be alright I am so happy!

GREAT news Rachel. His prognosis is excellent then if he is responding well so quickly.

So now you can go about the job of disinfecting your property as best you can.
Seriously, just use plain old bleach. It really is the best.
The issue is not your dog, so much, as the possibility of introducing another dog/pup to your property.
Once he gets home and is well again, make sure to pick up ANY FAECES he may do when out and about walking, at parks etc.

It is great news! I am over the moon! I don't think I will be having any puppy visitors for a while though. I always pick up his faeces, I can't stand it when lazy/careless people just leave it lying around, it really gets under my skin.

That's great news!!! If you're thinking about getting a buddy for your boy I'd wait at least a year before bringing a pup home.

Do you know of any other things I can use for my garden? You have been so helpful, I really appreciate it. Also, in regards to his bedding, should I just chuck it all out and buy new stuff? Luckily his kennell is plastic, but I was thinking of just throwing out all the other stuff

You can chuck it if you wish, but if not give it all a damned good soaking in bleach.
