Thanks everyone for your well-wishes. The vet will be calling me this morning to let me know how he's doing. Since they have had five vaccinated dogs come in with it in the past week, I should let you guys know that I'm in Sylvania, so if anyone lives in this area, please be careful!

I read that the "parvo virus" is more rampant / active during or after a rainy days etc as the virus is still active & alive even in water & that it can be carried thro water gutters, run off's, creeks, parks etc etc.

So i now avoid walking Floyd out doors for a couple of days after heavy rains etc.

Hope i explained it ok & it's understandable to all...
That makes so much sense! I walk him down to the river all the time and with all this crazy rain we've been getting, he could have gotten it through water.

So sorry Rach_el. Fingers crossed. The only dog I've been involved with treating pulled though, so hopefully your boy will too

Has the vet told you to get F10 to thoroughly disinfect everything your pup has come into contact with? If he's had diarrhea in the garden the parvo virus will live in the soil for several years.

    Horrible disease

Thankyou I hope he'll be alright. What's F10? My vet told me that bleach is the only thing that kills it so I scrubbed everything with domestos. Will that work?

Rachel, has your pup been in contact with other dogs lately, like friend's dogs and such? If so, please notify them just in case.
