    Oh dear. I would certainly agree with the others and feel a quick look-see by your veterinarian is in order.

    The date you gave for him being neutered is some time ago, but the licking at the dissolvable stitches may have instigated an infection.

    Please call your vet now. Depending on your vet and relationship you have with him/her, as I said earlier, you may find you can just duck him in for your vet to have a quick look-see for infection.

    Sumo had NO swelling...NO redness...stitches intact for 10 days...NO licking of the wound, because I kept it clean and use wound guard (spray stuff which tastes like SH!T)

    hi Spud

    Ask the vet about stuff to put on the wound that tastes horrible or a bucket collar for him.

    I put Aloe Vera cactus goo squeezed directly from the leaf onto Frosty's wound, and I know from personal experience (oops) - it tastes very bitter. It's good for healing wounds and preventing scars.
