    Default And Again...

    Here we go again.

Ziggy has a lump on one of her hind legs. When I first noticed it it looked like Mange (she had mites when we adopted her so thought she might be a bit sensitive in that respect) But it turned into a lump that got bigger and bigger over the last weeks (it is by now about 1.5 cm in diameter). I took her to the vet today and she took some cell samples of it. I hope it is going to be a histocytoma. They are benign and disappear after 2-3 months. But it could also be a mast cell tumor.... Well, beginning of next week we should get the results. If it looks like it could be malignant (or the cell samples the vet took weren't good enough to diagnose anything from) it will be removed, meaning surgery again...

Fingers crossed everyone that it is a histocytoma....

It certainly feels never ending Loren....

The waiting is OKish... I am worried but we have managed everything else so far so we will manage this too. If she needs surgery so be it (we have done that before too )

Obviously I wasn't here then, but this is something that is cropping up for you and Ziggy repeatedly Hippo?

You have a great attitude about it. I pray that it is not a mast cell tumour or anything nasty. Good luck with the results.

Thanks DA! There are quite a few threads about Ziggy's health issues.... In short, it started with a papilloma in her mouth that was removed followed by being diagnosed with ellbow dysplasia in both ellbows. About 4 months after the ellbow surgery she was diagnosed with arthritis in both ellbows (a consequence of the dysplasia). But luckily it seems to be a very mild form and she is not suffering from it ATM. So the lump is the next thing on the list....

ETA forgot to mention that she is incontinent too (but on medication so no probs )

Bugger! I am so sorry to read this. Please feel free to contact me if I can help. I have a sensational specialist surgeon in Moorabbin I can recommend if this is required, please call me if it is your nightmare and I will walk you through where I have been before. If, on the other hand it is what we all want to believe it will be, I will be there to party with you!

Poor Ziggy! Hope the results come back with the best possible outcome - I'll send lots of positive vibes her way. With all the problems she's had, she must be due for some good karma.
