    Unhappy Needed to Share :(

Hey guys just needed to get this off my chest

Took Bailey to the vet this arvo for her annual vaccination and check up.

Apart from learning that their is a MASSIVE parvo outbreak in my area!.......

Got the vet to do a thorough check on Baileys legs/hips as I know bully breeds are prone to hip displasia(sp) and because I have been researching weight pull and wanted to get her checked over before I started training.

He says her hips are fine however her left knee is not in good condition Its turned outwards A LOT more than it should be and she is bow-legged.

I cant do weight pull with her because she is now not allowed to pull any more than her own body weight and it is likely she will need surgery in the future.

Oh Judge! All the best to Bailey. Maybe that is why she got snitchy with the child, because she was in pain on top of what was happening?

I know mitte and thats all that matters the weight pull idea doesnt bother me much.

She is just soooooo driven and now I have to cut down her walks extensively and she is not going to like it

Vet said that there is no other option other than surgery

Could probably take her swimming. Either the beach, or one of my vets has a doggy hydrotherapy pool. Though that's somewhat more expensive than the beach. I think they said 5 or 15 minutes? of swimming is worth 1 hour of running.

Massive parvo break out - eek. I keep seeing puppies out walking that haven't had all their vaccinations. The owners often don't know they need to have booster shots, totalling three all up for the first time a puppy gets the C5 vaccination, and they don't know it's not considered effective for two weeks after the last shot.

Why don't vets tell them these things?

Most do (mine sure did) unfortunately most dont care or just dont listen and would rather flaunt there new pups

I live right near Edinborough RAAF Base and they have a doggie hydro pool there so I can try that thanks Hyac (hope you dont mind that I shortened it)
Dont know what she will think of swimming tho?

I wasn't aware that I wasn't supposed to walk my pup before all 3 vacc until I joined up here. Of course I stopped straight away and when I took him to the vet for his 2nd lot of immunisations she told me that I have to wait another 5 weeks until taking him out for walks (which will be one week after his 3rd vacc). As much as I enjoyed our walks together I'd rather keep my dog healthy and wait until it's safe for me to do
