I'll take a guess that she wees in her bed possibly..... the wee dries because they lay back in it and you don't realise that this is what is happening. I have had a few rescues come thought that did this.

I finally got it under control by washing the beds daily and as I wash the dogs weekly, they seem to grasp the idea of being clean after a while. When I washed their beds, I used vinegar in the final rinse then hung them to dry out on the line, sometimes for a few days at a time, to ensure the sun was breaking down anything still in the material (hence why I only ever buy bedding that is totally 100% washable).

It is hard to say if she will slow down once desexed as it all depends on why she is doing it. Some do it for dominance reasons, some do it as they have never known any better or because they have been brought up in a kennel situation.

Did the breeder keep her in a kennel or was she a house dog?

I'd have the ahir clipped around her nether regions and butt also to help keep it clean. It may look funny but it is better than the alternative.

why she does it and would de-sexing help? I don't know, and my puppy dog was desexed at 8 weeks, she's now 12 months and hasn't marked over any scents or other dogs' pee at all. She does like to roll in dead worms in the lawn. I suspect desexing an adult dog might not stop the marking / rolling.

Anal glands - our old dog was having that done every month until we asked what else we could do and vet said - have them out. That was towards the end of her life ie she was getting old and decrepit by then.
