Default Fish Oil and the Pregnant Dog?

In my wanderings around the net I have read fish oil for the omega 3 is very important in a diet for a pregnant bitch. I will be asking the vet but the recommended dose is 1000mg per day on some sites.. I take healthy life omega 3 fish oil 1000mg caps . Should it be one (I take more) for me and one for her?

Folate will be covered by diet as will calcium. Vitamin D.

    Thoughts on this or experience?

Fish oil could be of benefit of you think her vitamin A and D levels could use supplementing. The trouble with these vitamins is that they are oil based so any excess cannot be excreted so too much is bad. It basically has the same effect as too little.

Check with your vet. She may be better off having a can of sardines or mackeral a couple of times a week.

Oh Yes, I will be talking to Brian. The rate suggested was 1000mg per 10 kilos weight. I have also read it is a bad idea to give supplements. I wondered how many sardines that would be, lol. I would prefer to add it to diet.

I tend to think they can deal with it better in a natural form, as some supplements can be very concentrated. Does that make sense?? It is getting late...
