    Unhappy Never Ending Story...?

Ziggy is limping again.... For two weeks she was absolutely fine. She was running and playing, doing agility (no A frame or jumps though) jogging with us... All no problem. End of last week she started limping again. Not much at the beginning but I have the feeling that it is getting worse with every day. It is really bad after she had some activity followed by a nap. When she then gets up it is bad . It gets better though when she walks around a bit.
We will see the specialist on Friday and he will do some x-rays straight away. Hopefully we will find out what the problem is.

It feels like its a never ending story with her.... I just hope that she doesn't need surgery again... You would think she has been through enough already in her 16 months existence...

    Sorry to hear that Hippo
    Poor Ziggy.
When my previous girl Maxi had surgery on her knee I halved the amount of her exercise, and gradually reduced it walking only as running, especially jumping put too much stress on her joints. Maybe Ziggy's doing too much too soon-but that's something your vet will be able to advise you on.
    All the best Hippo!

    Oh crap Hippo
So sorry to hear , you all were going great guns.

As Mags said , perhaps its a simple case of too much too soon and a little RnR will see her right?
    Fingers crossed.

OMG, I have only just read this post, I am so sorry to hear that Ziggy is limping again. She seemed fine on Sunday. If there is ANYTHING i can do to help, please let me know! I will be keen to find out the results of the specialist on Friday. Hope it is nothing to be worried about, could just be healing from the last operation.....fingures crossed.
Good Luck Ziggy, our thoughts are with you.

    Thanks guys

I know she was doing a lot but only because when we saw the specialist last time he said treat her like a normal dog... And actually all the exercise improved it last time. And like I said there was nothing for two weeks but now it is really bad again. I actually put her on pain killers as she didn't put weight on the leg yesterday. And of course she will stay inside

laura - she gets glucosamine supplements

Oh Hippo, not again! Is it the same leg? Could it be that she hurt her paw rather than the leg? Mimi had for months a problem with limping that didn't stop her running or playing but it was obvious as some people who knew her noticed it. She had hurt her paw probably a sprain and it went all by itself. The Vet could not find anything wrong with her. Hippo, I hope she gets well and it is nothing too serious. It is so sad to see them in pain. I'll be thinking of you.

Well, it is the other... But saying that she had surgery on both her elbows. But when we first noticed her limping (before the surgery) it was her left leg. And now it is the right. But to be honest I am not sure whether it is the elbow or shoulder that is causing the trouble. My feeling says shoulder.... but I don't know... There is nothing wrong with her paws.
