Nope, he's in perfect health in every other way (without doing blood tests and such). I trust this vet. I work there so I know everyone there well, and I definitely trust them.

Koda is 4.5 years old now. When he was between 1-3 he was 30kg. I think he dropped to around 28 after that. But over the last while he's seemed to keep dropping the weight... so i dunno.

When it comes to following the rule that I know my dog better than the vet does.... I've been thinking he's too skinny for a while now, so the vet's opinion is just conformation of that.

I know Aussies are big dogs but wow - 30kg - that's getting up to Labrador size.

I met a very tall BC in QLD that was still growing into his skin at about 18 months old but he only weighed 17kg and he was quite a bit taller than my dog.

My dog weighed around 22kg when I started the trip but I think on the day I was supposed to be working her, she may have been 23kg or more - not hungry enough to work because she'd spent the day before hoovering my cousins' free feeding of his dog and cat. And he kept topping it up without telling me.

20kg is good on her but I have a hard time keeping her to it. She tends to argue a lot about dinner. She jumps 500 having measured 53cm standing on tippy toes to get a piece of sausage.

Koda is quite large for an Aussie. Every time I see other Aussies, I end up marvelling at how much smaller they are!!

He's 595mm at the withers, so he's taller than the ANKC standard says male Aussies should be. And he's not a light dog like your average BC would be. He's very solid and big boned... and he knows how to use that to his advantage when playing
