Have lots here at times too. My roof is dotted with ones squished with pool cues.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

Pyrethrym is made from pyrethrym daisies... lemon oil is made from lemons.

Personally when it comes to white tails - I don't like them - so I spray surface spray about once every six months or maybe twice between spring and autumn - where the walls meet the floors where I've seen them - so especially hallways and where outside walls meet the floors (on the inside) and under along the step at the front and back doors. And there's a bunch of holes in my bathroom wall - so there as well.

There's a bunch of places my dog doesn't go so I think spraying there is not a problem. I probably wouldn't spray behind the couch because she goes there a lot. Which also discourages the spiders.

Apparently the half brother to black caviar had to be PTS because he failed to recover from an infection caused by a spider bite... I'm willing to bet that was a white tail - it's the bacteria that is bad. Mind you race horses are prone to founder. Hard to figure out why - it's not as simple as fat ponies with too much green grass.

Black Caviar's brother who was sold at auction for $5mill earlier this year was put to sleep on Sunday due to complications from a whitetail bite... I would definitely be wanting them gone too. Better safe than sorry.

I was going to put up a link about this for you on another thread. Thank you for the explanation as to what actually happened. So sad !

Huntsman and Daddy Longlegs are the only ones allowed inside - others get sprayed. Outside - they feed the birds - so I don't bother !

We have about 3 nightly visitors but only 1 comes inside every night

The other 2 sit under the outside light and eat everything that comes close enough. They even let me hand feed them. And they arent fazed by canetoads or slobbery dogs either !!

They are all my little buddies.

I got geckos, it's a bit too hot and dry for green tree frogs around here. Tho not today. Humid and wet.

But the geckos live way too well on the mozzies coming off my rainwater tank to bother with wandering white tails.

Some time ago I was sitting at the vets (yes that vet) when a greyhound with three legs came in...whitetail spider.

I opened the front door once and a whitetail ran in...it didn't get far. If I see a huntsman I'll catch it and release it outside...the only spider we let inside is the Daddy longlegs as they eat other spiders especially those nasty black house spiders.
