Default Not Sure Whats Wrong with Griffy

I just got back from the vet with Griffen.
It looks like he's developed an allergy to something, but I cant figure out for the life of me what it is.

His legs, sides and ears look like their covered in hives exept they're not red or itchy. Infact it doesn't bother him at all, just looks horrible.

The vet doesn't think it's food (we changed his food about a week ago) but nothing else has changed. We have no plants in the garden or house and dont use any scented things in the house as I have allergys.

His on tablets that should clear it up in a couple of days, but in the mean time any ideas on what it could be??

I'm no expert, So i'll just tell you what NJ gets. NJ is on a course Cephalexin as he has a reaction to flea bite's they are not itchy or red just looks like a hole heap of lumps which look really bad. With the cephalexin it works in 3 days for NJ, Sorry i cant help anymore with this. Hope all goes well.

Hmmm...I'd put him back on his old food and see what happens. If it's the only recent change then it sounds like it could be food related. It's amazing how huge a role food & food quality plays. Misi used to have problems with skin allergies too. Last time I changed her food her coat went all dull and brittle.

The vet thought fleas, both dogs are checked regularly and they've never had any.

The main reason the vet thinks it's not food is because he's had this reaction once before when he was on his old food and it went away after 2 days

We suggested going back to his old food but because we have trouble keeping weight on him and we've tryed him on about 6 different brands without trouble the vet told us to keep him on this food untill after the medications finished.

I too, have never found flea's on NJ and i use frontline, But my vet told me that they jump on and bite, As NJ has short and light colour fur they wont stay on him for long, My vet told me that he will grow out of it, I do hope so..

Just looked up mange, there's no hair loss or redness.

The tablets seem to be working.
He had two doses of tables today and almost all the lumps are gone.
He'll be on the tablets for about 10 days so hopefully this is the last we see of it.
Even though it doesn't bother him I feel bad abut him being lumpy.

Hmmm never thought about dustmites, I'll look into that.

Still not too sure D&M's Mum, I'm really hoping it's not the food as he's doing really well on this brand. I guess I'll find out when he comes off the tablets.
OH thinks it may be something from next door. They have alot of fruit trees and he thinks they may have been spraying but I thought it would be the wrong time of year for that
