Well it's good she's showing some signs of improving. The sore throat, pain on swallowing, swollen lymph glands I can see may be related. But the others, I wonder too. My old girl put her back out a few months back and was sore and limping on either back leg, but could still get up and down ok. Oh it's so awful when you don't know what's going on, and let's face it, if the vet doesn't know, what good are my guesses gonna be? I just send you our love and hope she continues to improve

Yeah that's why I posted that gravis link...

It has the combination of sore swollen throat and wobbly back end in some forms - so a virus can do that.

Ps if she swallowed something spikey (bone or stick splinters) that can cause problems travelling from one end to the other as well.

    Thanks Riley

Well tomorrow is Monday... The vet said to give Meika until Monday to get better and if not, she needs X-rays. As of Sunday night, she can walk fine now, is pretty happy and energetic, her glands have gone down BUT she still has diarrhea. Last night she managed to have no accidents so she must be able to hold on, not like Friday night when it was everywhere. So... Do I take her back to the vet for X-rays tomorrow or wait a bit longer?? I know if I phone the vet, they will tell me to come in tomorrow. I'm thinking I might wait until Tuesday. Opinions?

'Kristy.Maree' - I would be getting her checked by the vet tomorrow - regardless !

She is still suffering from diarrhea or now loose bowels.

The normal rule of thumb for me - is if the diarrhea goes for more than 24 hours - then I am off to the vet.

    So - Good Luck !

What have you been feeding her (if anything).

If you followed the 12 -24 hour fast followed by boiled rice and chicken, and she's still got the runs, I'd be taking her to the vet. But if you've been feeding her normal dinner - I'd be stopping that, and trying the super plain diet - for 24 hours to see if that sorts things. But vet should have said when they gave you the antibiotics.

Hya, I wasn't able to fast her as she needs food with the metacam she is getting. The vet said 'soft food only' and believe it or not, our stove top AND oven both died on Thursday night (when it rains, it pours) so I haven't been able to boil up chicken and rice, I bought some shredded chicken breast from the deli for her but it was way too salty so I've been giving her chicken mince instead. I went over to my mother in laws yesterday and was able to boil up some chicken and rice so she's been eating that since dinner last night

I rang the vet this morning and they said to monitor her today (her poos are a bit more 'shapely' this morning) and to bring her in tomorrow if she hasn't improved.

I just took Meika out to visit the horse with me, she's been at home since Thursday so I thought a trip out of the house would be great for her... she LOVED it! She was running around everywhere doing zoomies, 'roo rooing' at me and just having fun Her poo's still aren't completely solid but other than that she's completely fine and back to her normal self

Yayyyyyy! Great to hear! I love your horse and bubby photos but my favorite is that last pic of Meika smiling and looking so healthy and happy.
