Default Oh NO.....:(......after anyone that can give me advice...

OK so if you have been reading my posts you know who I am .....
    Quick update...
New to the site ....have been waiting on a little male Papillion puppy ...with the floods in Bundaberg we finally picked him up on Saturday....

Well as you can see in my last post he is a beautiful little boy .....I am crate training him and toilet training him to go out side he is doing wonderful with both.....

When we where picking him up talking to the breeder, she had told me that she had given him a bath and I had noticed that he was a bit sniffily (like he had a runny nose congested)so I thought that it may have been some
water going down the wrong way ......

Since bringing he home his very first feed he at quiet a bit .....(probably due to the long drive home)....is appetite has decrease a lot since then ....

last night he woke in his crate and I went to give him a helping hand out and we noticed that he was very wobbly on his feet especially the back we where concerned .....so went to take him to the vet also wanted to have his sniffles checked also.

Well the out come was that she said that he is decongested and put him on an antibiotic (BETAMOX).....
she also re-wormed him again just to be safe.....
She also commented on his weight he is 0.9kg.......and she said that he is very skinny ......

When he has an accident in his crate overnight I thoroughly clean every thing including him, I gave him a quick bath and I noticed that the sniffles started again and he had green discharge coming from his nose.....

So not off to a good start ....I am a little scared and angry and disappointed, my intentions weren't to take on a sick puppy.....
(I understand puppy's do get sick but).........

I would definitely be contacting the breeder about this. Chances are that it is something contagious so they need to know about this. And if he had the sniffles before you picked him up, they should've got this checked out themselves.

See how you go with the antibiotics. They don't work for viruses, but will clear up any bacterial infection. Does he have runny poos?

Yes he does have runny poo's .....but I thought that was because of the worming that the vet gave him again....????

I don't mean to alarm you, but at his age with diarrhea and looking sick, I would probably get a second opinion. Did the vet do any tests? Take a poo sample if you visit the vet again.

In the mean time, make sure he stays well hydrated. If he's not drinking much, give him some water with a syringe.

I would also be getting a second opinion and contacting the breeder. They will need to be aware of what is going on. If they are a reputable breeder they will want to ensure this isn't happening with their other pups.

    Good Luck!!
