Default Fleas, first time- treatment and border collies

I have administered Revolution since I got Maggie and never seen a flea. Two days at my sisters and she is riddled. While I was there, the only thing was their flea shampoo, foamed and rinsed but huh,, waste of time. Brought her home and put on Revolution...... still fleas.
As border collies are allergic to some stuff, invermectin in particular has anyone experience in border collies and flea treatment?
I did a search here and see that several of you swear by comfortis, not sure as it is internal and could make her sick if it contains invermectin..
I will take her for a beach swim tomorrow morning to see if we can drown the suckers. Damn I am scratching just thinking about them, bad as head lice..

get yourself the Fidos Flea Free rinse, its 1ml per 100ml water, I make it up into a spray bottle and use it every second day with infestations, super safe, just brush it through the coat to skin level to get rid of the suckers. It's a bad flea year this year, and people letting their cats and dogs wander infested too doesnt help at all.

Border collies that carry a particular gene can be very sensitive to Ivermectin and it can kill so if treating with a combination heartworm flea formula one has to keep that in mind. Ivermectin is used for heartworm control in dogs. There are heartworm medications that are not ivermectin based.
Apparently you can get a test done to see if your BC has the gene.

Both of mine are fine with Ivermectin. I have used revolution or frontline without problem for flea treatment.

I use advantix because I live in a high tick area. I have still to find fleas on the dogs but I've found a tick. :S Hate ticks.

I've just had a look at my comfortis pack and theres no mention of ivermectin....just spinosad. I've had excellent results with comfortis...and i dont even keep up a routine with it. Probably one tablet every 8 to 10 weeks now....havnt seen a flea for well over a year now.

So, I am still waiting for the Fido Flea Rinse.
Got a capstar capsule from the vet and that helped a lot although she was seedy for a day. Swimming in the ocean every morning and otameal rinse from vet for her inflamed skin.
I can't give her any Revolution for 2 weeks.
    I HATE FLEAS
she is still scratching, maybe I am now paranoid and its just random itches, cant see any but hard to see with a bc

poor Misha gets a Capstar tablet if I suspect she might have picked up a flea. I'm a bit paranoid ... I buy Capstar at the supermarket and keep them on hand 'just in case'!
I hate the buggers! I have vivid memories of a flea plague in my area about 30 years ago ... our animals and home were infested, it was a nightmare
