Default Do You Brush Your Dogs Teeth ?

The wife thinks i've gone mad.
I bought a toothbrush and paste for dogs off ebay the other day. I figure if i can teach my new pup to put up with it i'll keep doing it. After suffering myself for years with bad teeth i know the pain and the problems it can cause and now the relief of having good teeth once again.

Maybe she's right,... getting carried away with buying all these new puppy things.
I'll still give him bones when he is big enough but i'll give the brushing a go anyway.
Do any of you guys bother or do you let the dog chew bones etc, to take care of the dental side of things ?
    Cheers,
    Sean.

I've just started brushing my dogs... my boyfriend thinks I've gone mad as well.

I only give them bones when I am there to supervise - which is once a week. Harley ended up having a lot of plaque on his back teeth, so they vet recommended it (or turkey necks... since I can't find them tooth brush it is).

He doesn't really like it, but will let me do it and Bella seems to be taking to it pretty well. The first time she tasted the tooth paste though was funny, she really did't like it, even though its suppose to be a tasty beef flavour!

It seems to have made a difference too, definitely less plaque buildup or what ever it is!

No no toothbrush here, the dog gets an assortment of bones to chew.
If you find yourself going through hell; Don't stay. Just keep on going.

    Yep. Mad, lol.
Vet says all my dog's teeth are perfect due to the bones they get, no plaque.

    Cheers guys,
In hindsight i think i had a relapse of ebayitis. I suffer from it reguarly, at least 2 or 3 times a week, somtimes more!
Bugger it, its here now, looks kinda yummy. If he dosnt like it i'll leave it up to the bones and anything else puppies chew. You know...shoes, kids toys, furniture, anything they arnt meant to chew.

I use raw chicken necks. I tried to brush build up of plaque off her teeth once, but it needed to be professionally done.

Oh yea, ebayitis, I know it well.

If my hubby did that I would suggest he use it on his own teeth...but then...I am a cow at times, lol.
