    Default Painting Your Dog..

I was asked by ozeymum how I painted stars on kimba and thought I would share it on here for everyone.

Instructions for Stars (her name was a lot harder)
    All you need is
*Contact (clear stuff you cover books n)
    *Scissors/scalpel
    *Paint & Brush.
    *template of shape/picture you want)
NOTE: I used non toxic kids paint (crayola) that just rinses off, you could also use a plastic stencil instead of the contact

I drew stars onto the back of the clear contact and cut them out with a scalpel. (I cut 2 different sizes and just reused them)
Then you unpeel the backing of the contact and stuck it onto the dog where I wanted them.
I then just painted inside the star and took it off carefully.
I repeated that all up her side in different colours.

I found it best to do it while she was asleep so she didn't move.
I'm not sure how this would work with a dog with longer fur.

If your dog wasn't scared, you could also use that coloured hair spray stuff. Kimba hates when I spray things so I haven't even tried on her.

Next time I do it I will take pictures while I do it to help explain it a bit better.

That looks great. I like the name. My dog wouldn't let me do that, he would bolt

    Its a great idea
My dog is my best friend and helps me though those hard days.

I think as the paint sticks to the fur all colours work really well.
I painted White on kimba and it didn't fade at all, then if you look the red, green and Pink are just as bright.
This was the very first time I did it

Shes fast asleep, no idea what happened! lol

I'm going to try this on Buddy in the next few days he has a lot longer fur and might even get Kim tonight.. shes never safe asleep!! lol

The hardest part for me is deciding what to paint on them..

Post pics up if you give iy a go, I really think its cool and a fun thing to try.
Also post if it doesn't work so we can learn from each other mistakes.

I was just replying to another thread and an idea popped into my head..
I am taking Kimba to the RSPCA million paws walk in May and thouht it would be good to paint something on her.
At first I thought 'RSPCA (then the 2 paw prints) http://blog1.rspcasa.asn.au/wp-conte...a-col-logo.jpg

It would be a good place to write 'BSL sucks' for chopper chops! (as long as your dogs were behaving..lol)

Can anyone else think of something?
