If I may ask, how did you get rid of your flea infestation? I have a mild one in my home, but I want to get it gone before it gets any worse. I flea bathe my cats (the only indoor animals) regularly and put flea stuff on them, but the house still became infested.

I was considering using a Hartz Ultra Guard Plus Fogger (Bought one the other day) but I'm hesitant about using it. What do you think?

Yeah I was adding canola oil to her food but stopped about 2 weeks ago.

She's actually going into the vet in a couple of weeks to have a growth in her mouth operated on, so i'll get her checked out then. In the meantime, I can ask on Monday at work.
Actually, she hasn't been itching for the last 10 minutes now that I think about it....
My advice...stop using the flea shampoos ....

Use some ACV in her water daily and give her PLENTY of garlic in her food.

If u see a flea try some diluted tee tree oil in a spray bottle..

I was vacumming every day, cleaning bedding once a week, bathing every second day(definately not ideal, but game some temporary relief), up to date with drops/tablets and every evening sitting down and using a knit comb to comb up the fleas and drown them. None of this was working. So I got my boss to give her a flea contraception tablet which definately broke the cycle and made me able to kill them all. BUT, it looks like they mighr be returning.

    Good luck.

Oh and btw, I don't think its an awesome idea to be washing your cats

Its a tablet that inables the females to become 'pregnant' so therefore can't lay any eggs for a certain amount of time.

Cats do a good job of keeping themselves clean themself, especially indoors cats. And the fact that cats don't like water fullstop.
I think its is incredibly stressful for them, and there are other ways to do it.

Oh, poor puppy, she must be going bonkers with the itching and I hope relief can be found soon, Myf.

(OT, and with apologies....when DA asked how many fleas came out in the washing I thought she was being funny and visualised dog in washing machine and you watching the water emptying from the tub. Sorry, woke up late and need a second coffee.)

    Ah, okay.

I don't do it to clean them. XD I just do it to kill fleas every month or so. But thanks for the advice. ^^

I used to have longhaired cats and they were trained to be bathed from when they were kittens. They never minded - bath a blowdry, they took it in their stride. But it needs to be taught early so it's never traumatic.

I have one of my cats that I've been bathing from kittenhood, but oddly enough she's the one that minds the most. ^^; My six-to-seven year old boy complains a little, but otherwise he's alright with it. He's like, "*Sigh* Are you done yet, mom?" XD
