Print a flyer & do a letter box drop in your target area/s.

Spread the word on dog forums such as this.

Give your details & service list to vet surgeries in the target area/s.

Give your details to retails stores such as Pet Stock.

Get in touch with dog walking companies (lonelypetsclub.com.au is one of them)

Put your details up on community type boards.

    Contact boarding kennels.

Put up fliers in dog walking parks.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head ......

    Wishing you all the best.

If you've got a web site, get yourself linked on as many related sites as you can. If you haven't got one ... create one. There's heaps of free site builders out there.

And just keep talking, talking, talking until you start to get a client base. If you're a great service, you'll get heaps of referrals.

Miss Jayne, have you left that stupid twit you worked for yet?

If not, and you are still there till you get this up and running, I would be quietly informing all your clients of your future plans.
I'll give you a bet that a lot of them will come your way, instead of stay with her.

Put a flyer up at the local schools - busy parents love to have someone take over the jobs they don't want to do. I would be asking if they would also put it in the school newsletter, my kids school newsletter has a lot of ads for local businesses.

Ooh there's some good ideas here that I haven't thought of! I'm in the same position, trying to start up a grooming business, but going to people's home to groom their dogs.

    I'm in Sydney though!

The one question you have to answer is "Why is my service better than anything else on the market ?" You have to have an edge .... what's yours ??

Best point in the world IMO.

Find that something that no-one else offers, and you are on your way to greatness, Jayne.

    Best of luck.
