    Yes, only if it's ingested. I've been using it on cuts on the dogs for years. If it's in a place where they can lick, I cover it with a porous bandage, so the air can still get to it.

    Aloe vera tastes horrible, Frosty has licked it a bit with no ill effects and shown zero interest in "chomping down" on the plant. So I think the benefit outweighs the poison risk.

    Otherwise you'd have to remove every poisonous plant from the back yard. Eg the oleanda, the daffodils, the tomatos (though Aussie Terror used to eat those)...
