Thanks for the link to the vets all natural, I'll order some today Molly is VERY comfortable with Meika, when we first got her she was terrified of everything so Meika became her 'safety' net and she became very attached. It was the most wonderful thing when Meika went down the stairs and Molly was too scared so Meika came back to the top, gave her a snif and a lick and then they both walked down the stairs slowly next to each other- like something in a movie!

I think if her coat is nice and shiny and she is healthy and full of energy I wouldnt worry, especially if she is a young dog. Vets are not always right about dogs weights anyway. I have working dogs and they are all super lean, shiny coats and full of energy. Puts less strain on their joints too.

When I go to the city people think they are very lean, because they are more used to seeing dogs that are probably a little on the plump side.

I had to go to the orthovet to get one of my working dogs hips xrayed and he told me that if more people kept their dogs nice and lean he would see less joint and cruciate problems especially in the higher risk breeds. He was very complimenty on my dogs leaness.

Well we just got back from the vet and she said that Molly probably could afford to put on a little extra weight but not to worry if she doesn't as she's still in a healthy range So I might just stop being a panicky mum and just concentrate on getting her to maintain the weight she's already gained In regards to the vomiting, she couldn't find anything wrong with her so fingers crossed it was just a one-off thing because if it continues she will be needing blood tests and x-rays (Might be time to start looking into insurance!)

She was really sick when we first bought her home so we went to the vet and I made a comment about her being skinny and looking forward to putting weight on her, the young, first year out of uni vet said "Why? She looks perfect! I like dogs to be on the skinny side!" I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped! Clearly we never went back to that vet again!
