Thread: Chicken frames

  1. #1

    Default Chicken frames

When feeding whole chicken frames do you remove the wish bone?

I always pull the wish bone out for some reason.

No, but i will from now on after reading why you do it Beau and i always remove that little sharp bone that runs hard against a chicken leg if using them for dog food. They look evil.

My mate eats the parsons nose. I think he's a sicko.

I find whole frames have too many small bones in general... I'd be there all day removing all the small, sharp bones so yes, the wishbone would be thrown out.

Our friends got to some factory that sell chicken meat and have heaps of frames left.
Some how he got wind of it and orders about 30 to 40 frames at a time.
Then at home he and his wife bag them up into lots.
These are fed to their dogs, one Smithfield and one Border Collie Cross.
They have been doing this for a while now and never had any trouble.
Though I don't know about the wishbone part.

When we sell organic chicken frames we do remove the wishbone just to be safe.

To be truthful, I never thought about it. Never had a problem. Now, you've made me worry where I never worried...
