Default Food Tips for Mastiffs-x Pls

    Hi all

Just wondering if you could all tell me your tips/tricks/recipes to help strech the food out more. They are only pups now but I think my husband need to take a 2nd job to feed them when they are older lol (j/k!)

I've googled things online but would like to hear recipes/tips that have worked well for you all.

I have a mastiff x and I use a combination of the BARF + all meat diet.

Every second morning they get either offcuts from the butcher or a bone or a small bowl of the premimum rice and vegies you buy from the shops.

Every second night they get rice, vegies and gravy with a bit of dry kibble and the other night they get a bit of kibble (1/4 cup) with two chicken necks + chicken breast + cottage cheese or an egg.

They have one morning off every second day where they dont have anything.

    This works well for us

Oh forgot to add prices. These prices are in quantities enough for a week:

    Offcuts: $1
    Chicken Necks: $3.50
    Premium rice and vegies: $5
Home brand rice + tomatoes in a can + peas in a can (for the rice, vegies and gravy night) $4 all up.
Bones: $2.50 for a shin bone cut in half. (treat)

So all up I spend around $15 a week feeding my dogs. I also buy one 15kg bag of supercoat kibble and it lasts me the whole month and it costs $30.

They get plenty of food and variety.

Befriend a butcher and ring a day before. He may save offcuts for you he was going to discard. My best is a shopping bag for nothing and worst, a densely packed carton for $8
There is a lot of fat, at least with mine to cut off, far more than is safe to give as I don't want pancreatitis in the future again.
