    That's true...

I'll have a look around for prices for beef/lamb etc.... though I'm afraid we pay heaps more for stuff over here in WA

I talked to Mr Curly Coats today and he said he gets bulk roo mince (and probably all the other stuff) from the Adelaide Central Markets. I've got no idea if Perth have an equivalent. As best I can tell from what Chefs that visit Adelaide say - our central market might be unique in Australia. It definitely has some bargains. My fav was the mushrooms for around $5/kg, when the supermarkets and local fruit veg have them for between 8/kg and 15/Kg

I admit when I visit Perth, I steel myself for prices roughly 3x Adelaide prices. But we're slowly killing off our local producers here so we might be with you soon.

    Loren...

im not sure what prices your willing to pay for HC roo mince or if its even avail at your local shops etc, i buy it in 1kilo pre-packed bag from my local Coles supermarket @ $5.99 a bag...

here is a link for a roo meat distributor, that may be of some use for you??

Thanks AF. Do you have to cook roo?
I'll see how I go with beef/lamb prices...

    Loren..

No you don't have to cook the roo for your dog providing that the roo is human consumption grade.

If you buy pet grade consumption roo then yes i would definitely cook it, as some roo meat can be riddled with worms & pet grade consumption is not put thro as many safety / health stringent inspections as HC grade roo is.

    Hi Loren

I second that. Mr Curly Coats feeds it raw. And the stuff he gets is for human consumption.

I used to include it in my dog casserole. I should check the coles price again, but for a while it was more expensive than beef mince.

Mr Curly Coats is a bit suspicious of the colour of the supermarket stuff (too red he says) but I think that might be a result of cryovacking it.

I feed raw plus Vets All Natural to my two dogs and have done for years. I even add extra Vegies like juiced raw spinach, carrot, parsley ,celery and maybe the odd apple as well as an egg or two to the mix and the dogs love it with thier raw chicken hips and necks. Vets All Natural is great stuff imo !!
