    Analogy following - beware...
Consider a wild duck. They eat grass, and some insects right? Then consider a domestic duck descended long ago from a mallard and changed by human selection. They now cannot fly, and some mature to a very heavy body weight by about three to four months of age. Can they satisfy this genetic need for growth on grass and some insects anymore? No. They can't.

Our dogs are the same. They are not wolves or dingos and their diets vary accordingly.

Occy - go have a Bex and a lie down would you?
Either you think I am stressed or you have no actual response to the questions I asked and are trying to down play it. Either way - I wish you luck with your diet choices for your dogs - as I do for anyone who is trying to do the best by their animals. I assure you however, none of these conversations strain me in the slightest.

Then how can you possibly give people advice about feeding dry?

How can I give people advice you ask ? I keep up and I quite like some of the dry foods that are around these days. It's just that people need to learn how to use them, especially where puppies are concerned.
If you don't like what I have to say Oc, then listen to Nattylou, she seems to know what she is talking about and could probably offer you a lot of good advice where your new(?) puppy is concerned?

Well quite obviously you can't learn anything because you think you know it all already when in fact you have nothing constructive to offer in the way of anything let alone knowledge about dogs. Be as nasty as you want to, I am not leaving as I like this forum, lots of NICE people to talk with and learn from.
All you are worth is to be ignored IMHO.
