    Default My Dog Loves Birdseed?!

Hey guys, I own an 11 year old female Jack russell terrier named Cassie. 4 years ago I purchased a little budgie and it was at this time that I noticed, Cassie really loves to eat bird seed. I've been discouraging her and she doesn't have access to it, and hasn't had any problems as a result of eating it, but I was just wondering if anyone else's dog likes bird seed and what the reason behind it might be. Could something essential be missing from her diet?

One of my dogs loooooves to eat chicken layer pellets. I have to be careful if I have some around him because if i turn my back for too long he'll get into it and start eating It doesn't do him any harm, but I don't let him eat it much anyway.

I dunno about it being something essential missing from his diet... My natural assumption would just be that he likes the taste of it, so he eats it... I've never really looked into it much though.

A couple of mine will chow down on wheat and lupins and sheep pellets if they get the chance.

Pretty sure some dog food is made from bird seed husks...

My dog likes Dynamic Lifter... which is processed bird food...

My boy will eat seed the birds drop out of the cage occasionally - probably no reason other than it's edible
