Frosty likes liver treats but I don't. She chokes on them half the time - because she has a tendency to inhale them and they have sharp pointy edges and up to $80 per kilo depending where you get them. Cheaper (but stinky) if you make your own in the slow oven. I can't believe the price of some of the supermarket dog treats - just multiply the 100gm unit price by 10 to get your per kg price - prepare to be shocked, crayfish is often cheaper...

hehe.. I haven't worked out the kilo cost but Pippin loves her liver treats and since one bag lasts forever I don't mind throwing one into the shopping cart. It's still a lot less than I spend on treats for me!

I hate those liver treats! You always end up with half a bag of tiny crumbs.

I much prefer using soft treats. Those Vitapet sticks are easy (I just break off tiny pieces) but very expensive. Microwaved liver is still my favourite (to give, not to eat !).

Liver treats really come in to their own when you put a pocketful through the wash...

Fo training treats I just use the dog rolls like fourlegs or vital and chop them into small soft squares. Sometimes bake liver or make tuna fudge which is just a mix of tuna, egg, parmesan cheese, flour and water made into a dough and baked and cut into small squares.
