And it's way cheaper than the pet supplies shops have.
What are peoples thoughts on Bonnie? I have fed it occasionally and never noticed a change in Koda. Its made by the same company as Supercoat and is cheaper than supercoat but i've heard lots of people say its better than supercoat...

Its very readily available in my area... got heaps of feed stores in my area that stock it.

ETA: I'm actually feeding Koda Bonnie right now, thought i'd give it a go again after a long time of not trying it.

I sometimes mix Supercoat in with my Black Hawk and Earthborn Holistic grain free with no problems at all. Supercoat bought on special is $15 for 8kg. That is when I buy it. Just have to keep an eye out for the specials and get in quickly as they sell out fast.

Ooh - supercoat made by the evil empire that makes Milo...

So I guess that crosses Bonnie off my poverty list. But the fodder shops usually have a bunch of different varieties.

Check the ingredient list - look for one that starts with meat and has cereal and other fillers further down the list.

My dog loves super coat too but her craps on it are diabolical. I figure it's the doggy equivalent to maccas...

What did you read about it that was bad? I've always only heard very positive things about it...

I guess its all very dependant on the individual dogs. Some dogs get a really crappy coat when they eat supercoat, Koda is fine. For some reason i've noticed Koda doesn't do well on the working dog types of food... he gets really wired and hyperactive. I swear Dodge could eat anything at all and it never seems to effect her, lol

Once i've got more cash coming in (gotta find some part time work, thankfully my parents are wonderful and support me in tough times) I wouldn't mind testing out Koda with BlackHawk, however i did always find the Fish and Potato flavour a little odd...
My ferrets are actually on BlackHawk (and another brand) at the moment. A 20kg bag lasts me ages... I bought a bag in January, and i've hardly used any from it. The vic ferret society recommended it to me, it took me ages to swap them over to it, they're so stubborn. Also trying to get them to eat chicken necks... they're not so keen.

Interesting about the Black Hawk, I have only just started feeding it as it has just arrived in the store. My dogs seem to thrive on the brands I have tried which are Nutro Natural choice, Supercoat, Earthborn Holistic so will see how Black Hawk goes in the mix. My dogs have always been active, lean well muscled and shiny. The only time their poos are sometimes suss is when they scarf sheep poo in large quantities.

They dont seem to be fussy either, they like and eat anything, even my BC who insists on eating his kibble piece by piece, but any other dog try and take it before he is finished will get themselves in trouble.

I have a friend who shows her dogs and she found that the protein level in Earthborn Holistic was too high for her dogs and they shed their coats in handfulls - not good for a show dog apparently so she went back to Advance with better effect.

I think one just has to experiment with their own dogs. Heck my first dog lived to 17 on a diet of Pal canned and Pal meatybites with no health issues at all and lots of energy.
