I've bought them years ago, but I can't recall ever having a dog that would eat them. Besides, just looking at the colours in them is enough to turn me off, too. Big real meaty bones are the go IMO.

I've seen dogs with them half chewed and seriously, it looks like a wad of soggy toilet paper to me.

Pretty loves the rawhide and pigs ears, I even found venison ears. I have never seen coloured rawhide ones, maybe I haven't been looking. I found that they were a great distraction and satisfied her chewing lust when she was going through that stage. I still have lots here, give one to the other dogs when they are here too. She demolishes them pretty fast. I too prefer bones but yes, for me they have a place.

The only time I gave Paw-Sha rawhide was a Christmas bon-bon thing I bought from my local pet supply store to fill her Christmas stocking with last year....She didn't eat that , but broke it open and ate the treats that were inside. After a few days past I throw the rawhide bit away.
I have added a pic incase you guys didn't know what I was talking about:

I use raw hides- but never coloured ones as they're not good for the carpet, and I figure not good for pup's stomach either. One thing to note here though, is please make sure that you always supervise when your dog has a rawhide- a lot of people leave them for their dogs to chew on them during the day and dogs can very easily get them stuck in their throat!!!

Nope, don't like them, don't buy them, don't give them.

A bone IMO is a bone. A nice meaty chewy bone that they can polish off and leave nothing behind, and I know their insides are healthy and have got a good work out.
    Just my opinion.

If you are after something that is safe for your dog to play with and be kepy occupied when you're not around try the Everlast treat ball. I bought one of these from my Golden Retriever who usually devours anything in a couple minutes, and it's lasted him a month so far. The initial outlay is a bit pricey, but the refills are cheap and they last forever so ends up a lot cheaper than buying rawhide bones!!
