    Default VAN toxic farts!

On Friday I started Molly on the Vets All Natural for sensitive skin as I have a lot of troubles with her and dry flaky skin and was at my wits end with things to try to make it better. So far her skin has seemed to have some improvement even in 2 days which I'm very happy about but with one problem... SERIOUSLY toxic farts (We're worried J. Gillard will start charging us a carbon tax!)

Has anybody else had this problem using VAN? Will it settle down once her system gets 'used' to it or will she continue to have these horrible smelling farts? I'm mixing it with the lamb, turkey, kangaroo mince mix that she usually gets so it's not the meat I'm using. She has been outside during the day (1hr off-leash park visit morning and night so she sleeps all day) and in the garage during the night time because if she's inside any room in the house, it ends up smelling like her farts for hours after she's left the room .

I really hope we're not faced with the decision to have a healthy-skinned dog with toxic farts or a nice smelling dog with bad skin!

We had some dogs arrive here with bad dermatitis.
I gave them Fish Oil caps (or you could just do sardines).
It seemed to help a lot.
Home brand sardines from Woolies - they are on the top shelf where you can hardly see them,
    $1-89 for 3 cans.

I tried that.. worked for Meika's skin issues but not for Molly's They both get a fish oil capsule with dinner each night and dried sardines as training treats while at the park. I've also tried washing with oatmeal shampoo and conditioner, not washing at all, grooming with a soft rubber brush, adding olive oil to her feed, flaxseed oil etc etc. It's just annoying that I've finally found something that seems to be working but she's stinking the whole house out! Today we had to walk to the park (we usually drive) because I took her in my car yesterday afternoon and when I left for work this morning it still reeked of dog fart!

Sorry, I have not had much experience with farting.
The only things that have caused it here are broccoli and peas!

get her something like Protexin or Vetafarm Probotic and feed it to her until it settles. A lot of dogs 'detox' on the product and you find some quite rancid things coming out the back end for a couple of weeks which is very normal. I find lamb can be a contributor to stinky farts at times

Thanks Nekhbet She's been on lamb since April and has never farted badly but the detoxing makes sense will definitely get her some probiotic!
